A Note of Thanks from Our Partners at the Irish Arts Center -
I just wanted to send a final note of thanks, to you and everyone at the Irish Institute, for your participation in this year’s digital Book Day -- it was a smashing success! We really enjoyed your offering, and are so grateful for your willingness to keep this tradition alive with us. Obviously, it wasn’t the same as the in-person version, but this year was special in its own right, and a really moving day for our community. Personally – it was thrilling to see my fellow NYU Glucksman Ireland House alum up there as well!
Over the 12 hours of the day, we platformed 27 participants, reading from and recommending works in 5 different languages, shared on our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube pages -- and amplified in our email blasts throughout St. Patrick’s Day. We were also featured on New York 1 News! Take a look here: www.dropbox.com/s/epz2djm6cbc8lxr/NY1%20IAC%202021%20Book%20Day.mov?dl=0 The final version of your piece will remain on our platforms, and I’ve included the YouTube link to your own video here: https://youtu.be/6q9NaQROD0g
This coming week, we’ll complete our planned donation of 500 books to the community centers we mentioned on Book Day -- including Emerald Isle Immigration Center, New York Irish Center, the Senior Outreach Program within the NY Irish Consulate, and the Aisling Community Center. We’re looking forward to returning in person next year, and we hope that you might be able to join us again.
Again, thanks so much, and if you have any questions or need anything further from us, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Best,
Xavier
